Here is your study guide for tomorrow's test. Take your time. Please make your best attempt at a problem before you come to ask me.
Here is a link to the second practice part of the star math.
It should be very easy points for your grade. Please show me your score when you have finished. Here is the geometry project remember. You must have the required shapes.
NO CIRCLES they are not polygons. You are NOT NOT NOT coloring it because someone else will be coloring the shapes whatever color you tell them to. Be NEAT. Use your template there is no reason to not have perfect shapes. I will give you construction paper for your final drawing/design. Here is a file for your unit test. Please complete this in notability OR on a separate piece of paper. If working on your IPAD going to any website or calculator will earn an automatic 0 on the test.
When you finish please go to the AR website and take a new star math test. After that you are allowed to do anything on moby max, IXL, or splash math. We will be having a unit test tomorrow. It should be a pretty easy one.
Things on the test will include: Writing a fraction and a decimal. Comparing what decimal is larger. Writing numbers when you are told different place values. Review- Ball park estimate (remember use rounding first and then do the work) Perimeter Area Open up the study guide below in notability so that you may do all your work on it. That was a long break. I hope you all had a great time not being at school. I hope you have not forgotten everything during your time off. Just in case you did forget some things we will be doing a lot of review this week.
To get us started please click on the link below. When you get to the site click begin. It will ask you 10 questions. (they should be pretty easy) When you have finished please leave your IPAD open on your desk so that I can check your score. While I check these please do math journal page 118. Yes, decimals have names and they are not Bob and Josh. Naming them is easy. You just have to remember one thing!
1) Look at the last digit. examples) .2 What place is the 2 in? The tenths place. so the name is 2 tenths. .14 What place is the 4 in? The hundredths place. so the name is 14 hundredths .87 What place is the 7 in? The hundredths place. so the name is 87 hundredths This past week we have looked at some really big numbers.
1, 218, 567 one million two hundred eighteen thousand five hundred sixty seven 309, 011 three hundred nine thousand eleven Now we are going to look at some really small numbers. We are starting this by looking at fractions. Did you know that anytime the number on top of a fraction is smaller than the bottom number, the number is smaller than 1. 1/2 = one half 3/10 = three tenths 15/100 = thirteen hundredths. When we write fractions the number on the bottom is the total number of parts. The number on top is how many are shaded or unshaded depending on the answer. example 7/100 means that 7 things are shaded but there is a total of 100 parts all together. Let's see if you can write the correct fraction to go with 5 pictures. extra credit if you can write the fraction for both shaded and not shaded example - 11/100 shaded 89/100 not shaded |
