The legislative branch is made up of the two houses —the Senate and the House of Representatives.

On One side of the branch write Senate
On the other side write House of Representatives
Executive Branch
The executive branch is made up of the Governor and other groups that enforce laws. They do not get to pick and choose what laws there are in America. This splits the power up so that each branch only has a little power.
Can you think of another group that is the law enforcers?
Draw a large branch

Next to that write what this branch does and who is in it.
Judicial Branch
The Judicial Branch is made up of the Michigan Supreme Court and other courts.
When people break the law or need to know what the law means they must go to the judicial branch. Through court cases, the judicial branch explains the meaning of the Constitution and laws passed by Congress. The Supreme Court is the head of the judicial branch.
The judges decide what punishments people should receive.
